On your mark, get set. GO! Get ready for an educational adventure with our preschool class. Your child enters the preschool class as a 3-year-old and will advance to the pre-kindergarten classroom for the final year, preparing them to enter kindergarten.
While in the preschool classroom, your child will receive continued education on preschool concepts such as days of the week, months of the year, colors, shapes and numbers. They will be introduced to letter recognition, beginning letter sounds, beginning writing skills, scissor skills, etc. We teach directional skills such as standing in line, sitting for teacher led activities such as story time, taking turns, sharing, listening and being kind to one another. Each day learning through play is reinforced by incorporating fun activities from the Pinnacle Curriculum and weekly Bible theme focus.
“Show and Tell” is every other Friday during our school year, September through May. (Check calendars for dates) Your child is encouraged to bring an item to share with the other children. Due to limited space, small items are suggested.
“Show-N-Tell” Letter of the week: Every Wednesday. This is a great opportunity for child and parent to work side by side. Gather one item from home that starts with the special letter featured for the week. (Check your calendars.) (ex. Letter “S” Spiderman or Snow White) (ex. Letter “A” Avengers or Anna from Frozen)
Each day the children play and explore outdoors (weather permitting) and engage in imaginative play in our atrium area. A variety of centers promote fine and gross motor development, dramatic play, science, sensory and self-help skills.
As you can see, we’re pretty busy. If we’re not in our classroom, there is always a sign posted in our doorway to let you know where to find us.
